I love Donovan's music. Mellow moments or what?
My mother always blasted music out; wherever we lived there was music. As I've hit the later years in life, I seem to have rolled around full circle, and I'm loving the tunes I grew up with.
Post the music you enjoy here if you like ~ all sorts are welcome!
Donovan a true minstrel and troupadour left Maryhill in Glasgow when he was 16 . Slept on a beach in cornwall for years where he was discovered. He made it big and just when he was on the verge of becoming a superstar ,he dropped out. For years he travelled about mainly in Greece didnt record a thing, the fame and money got too him .He is still gifting flowers to the garden. Such a beautiful songwriter and person. Jennifer Juniper, There was a mountain, Mellow Yellow, Hurdy Gurdy man, such wonderful songs .Also his folk songs as featured in a Gift from a Flower to a Garden, The Enchanted Gypsy, Lay of the Last Tinker, Starfish on the Toast, Song of the Naturalists Wife, Voyage into the Golden Screen, Isle of Islay, The Tinker and the Crab there are more . Poetry in song of the highest order. I still like louder nusic too but even then its magically based listen to Nightwish. But mainly softer music is the order of the day.https
I find it gentling. Sweet & I suppose, therapeutic; a balm to the battered heart & soul we all relate to at some points in our lives.
