How do you find your isn't always easy, is it.  We usually aren't born knowing what we want to do.  And when we do almost find it, we're told....that's silly, it's dumb, you can't do that.

So....we start again, trying everything we are interested in, and seeing what we cull from it.  I took every little thing I was interested in, and explored them.  Many I found right here, at the Temple.

It was like trying on a big bunch of new outfits....seeing what fit and what didn't.  Through time, many of the 'unrelated things, started to feel related.

My passions tend to include being a witch, a mom, and music.  There is more....but, I've narrowed it down to those three.  And oddly, to me, they are inter-related.....they are my life.

I've known others to create their passions if they couldn't find what they needed.  I had a friend, years ago that went to school for teaching.  She graduated and could never find the 'perfect post.'  She finally found a way to start her own business, a kindergarten, her passion.  25 years later, she is still in business.

My husband's passion is cooking....he's a chef.  this took years of working in different jobs, oddly, always food related.  A produce delivery position, and prepping the produce, a pop truck delivery job(RC Cola)a factory that made and packaged cheese, a prep cook, to short order, to finally a chef.  It's what he was born to do......and he's was clubbed over the head with the idea for a long time, before he finally figured it out.

Perhaps someday, I'll do more with my music, it took a back seat to motherhood, something else I truly love.  And being a witch, a crone is something I was born to's a pity it took me so long to figure this out.  the Temple helped me find my passion, who I really was.

Linda, I love your post, and thought I'd kinda write a little bit myself.

I've known I'm really different since I was a child, but didn't know how or why. My childhood was anything but normal. My adolescence was painful, difficult, and constantly trying to fit in ... never did. After high school I went into the military trying to figure things out, and it did help some, but my track was still way off.

I thought medicine was where I should be, but after many different forms of it, it was eliminated due to an accident. And all in that was a horrific marriage to a man I met in the military, but when we ended up in his family's property, and I was stuck taking care of his grandmother who was slowly dying of brain cancer. Everything came to a head after ten years, a painful one, and we ended up divorcing ... thank god we did. He really was abusive in so many ways which I didn't realize how bad until I left. I was really messed up for a while, but finally the clouds began to part, and I was finding myself again.

I've been a writer since I can remember ... it was a way of dumping, thoughts, and my creative work. I finally realized that my passion was to write. I began to see myself as a writer, and that I needed to write ... everything. I love to write everything I learn, conceive, flesh-out, and with the help of the Temple I've able to expand my horizon of knowledge, which I write in one form or another.

I so enjoy the interaction between everyone on Temple Illuminatus because they teach me, help my understanding, and help me to grow, to learn - which is the other big passion I have, and that is to gather as much knowledge as I can, which is why I have over 5,000 books in my house. And yes, I've read them, some more than once.

Thanks Linda, I needed that.

Love this Linda ❤
