I resign.....I am officially tendering my resignation as an adult.  I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an eight year old again.

I ant to go to McDonald's and think it's a four star restaurant.  I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make ripples with rocks. I want to think M&M's are better than money because you can eat them.

I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends, on a hot summer day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple, when all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes....but that didn't bother you because you didn't know and you didn't care.

All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair.  That everyone is honest and good.  I want to believe anything is possible.

I want to be oblivious to the complexities off life and be overly ecited by the little things again.  I want to live simple again.

I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month then there are in the money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness, and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs,a kind word, truth, justice, imagination, mankind and making angels in the snow.

SO.....here's my checkbook and my car keys, my credit card and all my responsibility.  I am officially resigning from adulthood.  And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first!!  'Cause, tag, you're it!!!

I love you sense of humour wrapped with bittersweet joy! We grew in a special time Linda! It is great to have memories as these. Thank you for sharing Memory Lane but.........
Nananabooboo-TAG-YOU'RE IT!!!!
I would like to join you Linda.
There is one thing I want to tell you; thank you for all the funny you put out into the world. Right now I'm watching one of E!'s tributes to Joan Rivers. Fighting back the tears is difficult because I am a fan of Joan's. After wiping the tears away I opened your email and remembered all of your funny posts and I laughed. Thank you for keeping the funny coming.
Cheers!

I actually thrive in the adult world. I didn't like being a kid, I hated it, I was bored with games and toys and school was the worst nightmare I have ever endured.

It's so true though that mountains of paperwork is awful and the stresses of bills, but I saw my dad with all of those- they still existed.

The problem seems to be money, enough of it in the world, but not distributed fairly. If we had the freedom from the responsibility of bill paying and the likes then we could do more of the things we enjoy, whether its climbing trees or going to Art Galleries, or travelling.

I longed to be an adult, so that people would take my ideas seriously.

I longed to be an adult, so that people would take my ideas seriously.

It always bugs me when people don't take our younger generations seriously, especially in realms like this one. Fresh ideas, new concepts, etc. always seem to emanate from unconditioned minds. It's just unfortunate how many adults always feel they know better and then demand respect based on something as ridiculous as age. /rant
