Embrace sweet mother earth as she moves gracefully from the balmy eves of summer into the brisk mornings of autumn. The magic of the Autumn (fall) Equinox begins with chai tea, earth tones, fuzzy sweaters, the smell of cinnamon, and bustling leaves, permeate the air and our world as we move into a new season. The days becoming shorter; our bodies learning to acclimate to the darkness as it falls sooner.

For some excitement is brewing, Halloween decorations dug out of the basement or attic. Fighting the urge to put them up before the month of September has even begun. The fall season is my favorite of all, I love watching nature transition, she doesn’t resist the death of summer, or try to run from the falling leaves. She simply moves with grace, sending the breeze in to soften the process, and spreading the scent of warmth and burning chimneys to remind us that change is around the corner. The Autumn (fall) Equinox reminds of this balance, harmony, and invites us to find this within ourselves.

MOTHER EARTH EMBRACES CHANGE….

We could each learn a valuable lesson from this time. Magic is not simply just for children or the naive, it is for those who look closely, pay attention to the various worlds we are all stepping through in each moment. It is for the wide-eyed and open-hearted, the ones who speak to the trees and receive the guidance from the animal messengers.

THE AUTUMN (FALL) EQUINOX REMINDS US….

Magic exists in everything & everyone; fall contains beautiful medicine for each of us to absorb deep into the soul of our beings, we are nature, we are in sync with a harmony and rhythm innately. You can harness the energy and spirit of the fall season in a variety of ways:

LISTEN…..

Go into nature and receive the wisdom. Through the roots of the trees to the blustering leaves all of nature is speaking to us. All you need to do is find stillness, enough to be firmly held within your body so your presence can then welcome the presents of autumn.

LET GO…..

Allow the energy of the present m to unfold, release the desire to resist the slowing of the time, shortening of the days, and listen to what you body is calling you to do. Maybe going to bed a little earlier, drinking warm fluids, eating nourishing foods that are in season.

BE OPEN TO CHANGE…….

Keep a beginner’s mind, welcome the shift and you will be delighted in the gifts waiting behind the veil of change. Nature has a process and a rhythm just as your body does, together they will adjust into a harmony.

REFLECTION….

Look back over the year with gratitude and wonder. What new opportunities are you ready to embrace and receive? How can it get better than this? What in your life is expanding and contracting? Welcome every single ounce of it as divine wisdom reveling itself through layers of experiences.

SOME TOOLS FOR CREATING A MAGICAL AUTUMN (FALL) EQUINOX

Meditation: Open To Change (included in the Autumn Equinox class and is actually a Hypnotherapy session, you can purchase it here: Autumn Equinox)

Affirmation: I have gratitude for all that flows in and out of my life

Stone: Peridot, Agate, Coral, Jade, Smokey Quartz, Carnelian, Emerald

Sign: Libra

Element: Air

Essential Oils: I love essential oils, and some of my favorite fragrances are fall scents. Here is a fantastic fall scent for your diffuser:

SPICY CHAI:

1 drop ginger essential oil
3 drops cardamom essential oil
2 drops clove essential oil
2 drops cassia essential oil
Incense: Nag Champa

Altar: Add anything to your altar that brings in the energy of fall, such as pine cones, autumn scented candles, oils, or incense. The air element can be represented with feathers as well. Pick items that feels right, even if they do not fit into a traditional “fall” theme. Always trust your intuition over all else. You may also pick some of the gemstones from the above list of stones.

LISTENING TO THE MOON DURING THE AUTUMN (FALL) EQUINOX

Moon: Harvest Moon This full moon’s name is attributed to Native Americans because it marked when corn was supposed to be harvested. Most often, the September full moon is actually the Harvest Moon, which is the full Moon that occurs closest to the autumn equinox. In two years out of three, the Harvest Moon comes in September, but in some years it occurs in October.

At the peak of harvest, farmers can work late into the night by the light of this Moon. Usually the full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice the chief Indian staples are now ready for gathering. (Farmer’s Almanac)

LISTENING TO THE BODY DURING THE AUTUMN (FALL) EQUINOX

Food: Warming foods such as soups, hearty meals with root vegetables and warming spices.

Herbal Tea/Spices: Chai, pumpkin spice, nutmeg, Cinnamon, vanilla bean are all of my favorites for this time of year!

Ceremony: Attune to the new season, first spend time in reflection with gratitude. Set goals, write out what you intend to manifest. Journal and then burn your pages to transmute and transform the energy. Give thanks for all that you have, and for all that is coming into your life experience.

The Autumn (Fall) Equinox occurs once a year. During this time, the sun crosses over the celestial equator moving south into the northern hemisphere and day and night are in equal length.

THE AUTUMN (FALL) EQUINOX….

Is a beautiful time to reflect on your efforts, manifestations, and a time to give thanks for the various blessings and gifts that surround you. It also is a time to begin preparing for the coming winter months focusing on what it is you wish to create. It is the first day of autumn (fall) and has a variety of other names including the Fall Equinox, Mabon, Winter Finding, Mid-Autumn Festival, and more depending on the geographic location of the event.

There is magic in the air, and it is a powerful time of year, this is why various cultures celebrate the change of seasons, moving with the ebb and flow of mother earth and her transformation. Many people began changing their diets, sleep habits, and daily routines to follow the seasonal shifts.

THE AUTUMN (FALL) EQUINOX

is very symbolic of abundance, gratitude, giving thanks, a bountiful harvest, balance, and equality. To embrace this particular equinox it is helpful to bring your awareness to:

The upcoming months (winter)
Attuning to the earth and her energy, embracing the dark and the light that exists within each of us
Finding harmony and balance
Create a ritual for honoring the change
Blessings to you during this powerful moment in time~
