The "YOU" in this poem being systems and personalities that seem designed to keep me contained in the box "THEY" chose for me.

      I really don't want to spend my life energy on an Us versus Them thing but if I have to fight for my right to be myself then I will. At present remaining myself is the best way I Know how to fight this fight. thanks again.  marK

Oh, Mark, there are so many lines in this exquisite piece which shoot right into my heart and have me nodding emphatically. I've a deep seated tendency to rail against ambivalence and this spoke right to that for me.

I went through a lot of angry times before I finally figured out the best approach (most of the time) is to simply say " I don't agree with you but I won't interfere with your life as long as you afford me the same courtesy " (or at least something like that). Thanks for checking this out.  marK
