It doesn't matter if you are new to psychic abilities or currently aware of your abilities. When preparing to do any of the exercises that will be presented in this group for you to practice, you will need to prepare. What this means is preparing mind and body so that are you are in the best position to sense and feel the energies surrounding you.
To prepare to give your psychic muscles a workout, we first must put your physical senses and body into a restful state while keeping your mind fully alert. So how do we do this? The most common suggestion is to meditate. I sometimes think, just the word 'meditate' can send lots of people off in a tizzy as if it was some really hard state to obtain where only those seasoned and taught in the art of meditating can do. Yes there are more advanced forms of meditation that require some knowledge, but for our purposes I'm going to give you a basic form of meditation that can help bring your mind and body into a state that we need you to be in to best sense your psychic senses (which I will explain below).
I am however, fully aware, that mediation even in its simplest form can be difficult for some people. Remember, I mentioned above that to be effective in the exercises in this group, we need your body in a relaxed state and your mind fully alert. Meditation is only one way to achieve this. If you find you cannot get yourself into the relaxed state needed through meditation find other ways to relax yourself. Use things that help you relax. Some people like to light a candle and the soft ambient light that flickers lightly is enough to relax the body. To others using the scent of aromatherapy helps sooth the senses and calm the body. Even music can be used to help transform the mind into a more calm state. (although using thrash metal or the like might not be conducive to calm the mind. :))
The idea is to use the method you feel most comfortable with to bring your body into a restful state and your mind fully awake and aware.
Basic Meditation Technique:
You should now be in a complete relaxed state but your mind fully awake and aware. You are now ready to begin the exercises into discovering and exercising your psychic muscles.
To bring yourself out of this state.. if you haven't fallen asleep ;).. use the counting system. chose a number to count to, like five. and mentally say to yourself as I count to five, my physical body will waken. When you get to five your body will be fully awake once again. Start counting.
Now word of advice: If you do any type of relaxing technique where you bring your body into a complete relaxed state. After you bring yourself out of this state.. don't go running out to operate machinery immediately. Everybody comes out of a relaxed state at different rates. Make sure you are fully awake and aware before you go for a drive.
What I would like you to do, is practice... practice practice practice! Get used to bringing yourself into this state of being, for the more you do it.. the easier it gets. It is also in this state where you are most sensitive to the energies around you.
