Hi Stacy. When I first started meditating I did it with a group. It was a very small group of about ten people and we meet once a week for about 2 hours or so. We would do a sitting meditation, and then a walking meditation, and then we would talk about our experiences afterwards. This helped with the consistency and discipline issue but it was encouraged that you practice daily on your own as well.
I find the following book/cd/set very helpful:
I've had the kit for over seven years now and I still use it to this very day. I've tried other guided meditations, but I still find this the most effective.
Hope that is helpful. I'm happy to try and answer any other questions you may have.
Thank you for replying =)
This is informative and I look forward to learning more.
I would love to dedicate at least ten minutes a day to meditate - my goal is to actually do this, and be committed to it and when I have learnt to crawl then i can walk (increase daily meditation time). It's not that I don't have time to do, because I do, it's that I always find something else to do.
I love that people say it has change their life - made them calmer and able to deal with life's challenges.
I want to be calm within any chaos - that is my goal =)
