Sacred Adornment

To many of " body modders" out there,  our ink and piercings are a religious experience. We welcome the methods that etch indelibly across our flesh the beliefs and truths we have experienced and embraced.  All faiths welcome!

**********

Tattoos have been used for all kind of purposes ever since the dawn of time. Over the years, they have served as symbols of rights, symbols of rank and seniority or being juniors, symbols of spirituality, devotion, religion, rewards and awards for bravery, amulets, talismans and security. Tattoos were also used as a symbol of punishments, being outcast, slavery and conviction. Tattoos have been one of the most frequently used body arts.

Those are beautiful Phoenyx. =)

I love spirals; slightly reminiscent of a treble cleff as well.

No apology necessary. ; )

To re-size pics here...

When you upload a pic, at the bottom of the pop-up box, there is a section where Width ____ pixels. is displayed.

In the box you type the numeric value you desire the pic to be.

I've found 500 pixels to be the largest usable size for comment walls, as well as profile comments.

Further...

After the pic is displayed, in the comment, additional adjusting of the pic's size can be done by clicking on the pic, ( before submitting the comment) which will highlight the pic in dark blue. While the pic is highlighted, at the bottom of the pic, there is a small tab where one can edit the pic, ( via the pop-up box again.) or delete the pic altogether.

Hope that helps; and thank's for sharing.  =)

Phoenyx....I love your earrings!!  Wow they are really stunning!  They look really comfortable too.

I have to agree with you there about not conforming to 'society's' view of what is 'normal'.....not letting your true Self shine!!

I have always liked dragons and so it really was pretty obvious that a dragon would be the first one I would get....I really love it I have to say!!

Dragons have always protected me and the three butterflies represent me and my brother and sister (both now passed on)....just loved it.

I hear you Phoenyx on turning heads. I get lots of reactions; though I live in a rather conventional and conservative town. Not too many freaks like me around here... Lolz! Having ink on the hands, neck, and face, typically gains me extra "attention"; very rarely being the positive type. Not that it has any negative effect on me, it's not like I'm going to conform to modern day societal paradigms, and stop shining the truth of my being, just to be accepted.

Thank you Lorri, that's nice of you to say. =)

I received my first tat at 18, ( 40 now ) and had multiple piercings in both ears, when the vast majority of "normal" males in my town thought is was "gay" just to have a single piercing in one ear. I took even more razzing than when I was younger, in Secondary school.

So what does your ink portray?

Wow Cian....loving the artwork!!!  Its beautiful!  I turned 50 last year and got my first tattoo...always had some piercings, ears, nose....looking for a new tattoo now.

That's a beautiful piece you have in your lowest hole, PhoenyxHarte; is it a winged serpent? Looks to be made of bone, or perhaps ceramic? Slightly reminds me of Indonesian designs.

I forgot to add this to my previous post...

Still a piece in progress, a little more design to add around the edges of the presentdesign and then I'm thinking I will get it shaded with black / grey ink.

On my other forearm, I'm considering getting the elements of water and earth. I'm still undecided if I should draw up a motif in Tibetan style, as I did for the fire / air, or perhaps go with Japanese, as I have Kanji on my left inner forearm.

Hoping to get some more work done on July 1st. I prefer to get work done on highly energetically charged days, and tend to receive empowerment's / encoding  / initiations, when I do.
