My Yule Sabbat.
Yule. 21st of December until around 22nd. In my home we begin (I do) on 21st and our holidays continue up until January 1st. It's a time of rest and celebration to us.
Family time, an oasis away from the bustle in this world. We go for walks - not as many as when we were younger, but we still manage the odd trot in the green, together, somewhere. We live next to the woods so we have that green around us all of the time. My windows look out onto fields for the most part so..it's always with us. Its good to see the seasons unfold.
I prepare a Yule log each year. After the season passes I put the log in the garden each year. It rots down and the wood lice love it lol. I've also used ashes from them on the garden after burning it in the bbq tub. But, usually, they go into the garden.
I decorate with ivy and conifer fronds, holly if I can get it. I wouldn't touch mistletoe - don't know why. Actually this year will be a rethink, as I have a very young cat and she likes to explore. Ivy is poisonous to cats, so I'll have to research the foliage.
Hmmmmm...this is turning into a Yule diary....
