Instead of using typical garland, go for a more natural look (and save money) by crafting a strand of pinecones.
We made our pinecone garland to decorate a fireplace at holiday time. But a strand or two would look great any time of the year hanging in or outside your home, or use them as wedding or party decoration.

Cut 8-inch long lengths of floral wire, one for each pinecone.
Wrap each wire around the base of the pinecone and secure in place by twisting together. Take three to four wires and twist them together to make a bunch of three to four pinecones.

Cut a length of the thick wrapped wire the length of the final garland. Secure bunches of pinecones by wrapping the bunch of floral wire to the thick wrapped wire. Continue to secure the pinecone bunches along the thicker wire.

Lay or wrap garland to add texture and a bit of nature to your holiday decor.
