This concept of Indigenous is also represented in South Korean Flag. Here it is explained from an American.
The indigenous soul lives within and as a dimension of the TRI-UNITY of Heaven (Father Sky), Earth (Mother Earth), and Human (the Two-Leggeds). This Tri-Unity is not ‘top-down’, but Whole – never one without the other two.
the ‘Triangle” – see it dimensionally, not flat; see it rotating, not static – Sky from the ‘Above’; Earth from the ‘Below’; “Here” as the being-created and creating middle.
The word ‘Indigenous”– two words here – “In” and “Degenous”. “In” signifies living ‘in-wardly’, living from within; everything as originating from within, and the ‘all-around’ , the land is also the ‘all within’. Civilization lives wholly from without – and from that ‘without’ – living only from the literalized senses, bolstering sense life with the cleverness of thinking that produces the layering – that’s living in hell.
The mystery word “Digenous” – means something like “Gendered”.
The first part of the word functions as a preposition — where? It says ‘in’ or ‘inside’.
So, the “in” refers to the invisible interiority of the “Digenous”. Digenous is an actual word.
The etymology of the word ‘digenous’ is more revelatory – and, at first, seems strange:
“Bisexual”, that is of or pertaining to both sexes; done by the two sexes; syngenetic; originating from opposite sexes.”....
“indigenous” –two invisible (the ‘in’ part), equal, sexual powers the, ‘digenous part’ (do not take this as having to do with “having sex” in any literal way ), in longing for each other create the new.
The two sexual, longing soul powers creating Earth, create continuously – Earth is being created, it not already created as merely the ‘stage’ for human action.
The ONE spirit (The Original people speak of “The Great Spirit”), divides into two – sexes – two equal creating forces, (The Original people speak of “Father Sky” and “Mother Earth”), one concentrative, the other expansive, and their yearning for each other results in ongoing creating of everything, the particularities of which are individual extensions of the Great Spirit.
The sexual longing makes the things of the world in the image of the One Spirit – that is, each specific individual creation is part of the Whole – separate ‘things’ is an illusion. The One extends into the Two, and the Two extends into the Third, which is the visible
Earth, always happening as the soul activity, the imagination, of the ONE SPIRIT as two forces, extending Desire, the ONE SPIRIT, LOVE, outward.
Said yet another way:
WHAT HAPPENS AS THE CREATING OF EARTH/NATURE – THE CONTINUAL BALANCING OF MASCULINE AND FEMININE FORCES. – ALL OF THE EARTH AND ALL OF THE UNIVERSE IS BEING COMPOSED, CREATED THROUGH THE DESIRE OF THE WORLD-GENDERS TO UNITE. AND THIS DESIRE IS GOD’S DESIRE OF MANIFESTING LOVE.
THE ORIGINAL ‘INDIGENOUS PEOPLE’ LIVED WITHIN THIS CREATIVE UNIVERSE, THIS CREATING EARTH – in the modality of instinctual consciousness.
THOSE WHO HELD TOGETHER THIS VISION AND THUS OF EARTH AS IN THE ACT OF CREATING RATHER THAN ‘ALREADY CREATED’, WERE THE ELDERS.
the Earth in the always happening process of creating, where to be ‘Indigenous” means to be within and aware of Earth/creating happening, not already happened.
People who are aware within this reality are ‘Indigenous Americans’, forever indebted to the Original Indigenous Americans, who are our true teachers, or were destined to be until they were decimated, a decimation making a place where there is no ‘here here’. But, those who hold the stories – like the Hopi, the Pueblo, the Zuni and many others in other parts of this land, are still our teachers.
There is a lot of meaning in the Korean flag, which is also called Taegeukgi (referring to the Yin and Yang halves of the circle in the center of the flag.
The flag consists of three parts: the white background, the red and blue circle in the center and four trigrams, one in each corner of the flag.
The white background of the flag means peace. The red and blue circle in the center refers to the origin of all things in the universe. The central thought is perfect harmony and balance: A continuous movement within the sphere of infinity, resulting in one unit. The blue part is called 'Eum' or in Chinese, Yin, and represents all negative aspects of the balance while the red part is called 'Yang' and describes all the positive apects. The circle itself represents unity - bringing together the negative and the positive, while the Yin and Yang represent the duality. Examples of duality are heaven and hell, fire and water, life and death, good and evil, or night and day
The four trigrams at the corners (called 'Kwe' in Korean) also communicate the concept of opposites and balance. Representing the four classical elements, the The trigrams are heaven (upper-left 3 solid bars), fire (bottom left corner - 2 solid bars with split middle bar), water (top right corner - 2 split bars with solid middle bar) and earth (bottom right - 3 split bars).
Symbolic of the nation is the white background (the land), the circle (people), and the four trigrams (the government). All three make up the essential elements of the nation.
A popular variant in Korea is the tricolor Taegeuk (samsaeguitaegeuk 삼색의태극 or samtaegeuk 삼태극), which adds a yellow lobe or "pa" (hanja: 巴 Hangul: 파). The yellow is taken as representing humanity, in addition to the red and blue representing earth and heaven respectively. This version is related to the Buddhist symbol of Gankyil.
the Korean-style Sam-Taegeuk
[three-part Grand Ultimate] Symbol,
used in Korean Shamanism, Neo-Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism
Blue = Heaven Red = Earth Yellow = Humanity
Heaven influences Earth, which influences Humanity, which influences Heaven...
The Wholeness of consciousness was/is lived by the Original people — at the vibration of instinctual awareness. However, I am not going to fall into the trap here of talking about levels of consciousness and its attendant error of placing instinctual consciousness at the bottom.
The Whole, vibrates complexly, and does so with different emphases at different time periods. BUT we are never without the vibratingly living Whole.
The difficulty, in fact, is that this civilization, since the beginning, with the capturing of Original people and making them into slaves, had the aim of destroying the wholeness inherent in instinctive awareness, and we thus have, ever since, lived out of balance.
Destroy the Whole and you can control the parts.
the missing awareness is ELDER CONSCIOUSNESS — which holds the Whole together: Instinctive, Sense, Elder, Cosmic, Christ Awareness. And these modes are not hierarchical!
An essential post. Gratitude from a lover of word roots as well as our earthly cosmos.....
