Indeed, it was the adventure of lifetime for him, also, besides whatever it might have been for Helen in Troy or elsewhere.
Helen's life was also full of adventures, no doubt about it, regardless of her jewelry.

The Lost Jewels of Helen of Troy. In May 1873 Heinrich Schliemann found a cache of gold and jewelery during his search for the city of Troy at Hissarlik, Turkey. He claimed they were from the time of the Trojan war but some think they predate it by 1,200 years.
