The Triple Goddess

This is a group to honour the Great Goddess in all of Her many aspects, and by myriad Names, as Maiden, Mother and Crone.

To reconnect with the Divine Feminine - the Goddess archetype and Her three faces, is vitally important in order to restore the essential Balance that humankind has been struggling without for the last couple of thousand years.

Naamah

The Goddess Naamah is commonly known amongst the male-dominated religions as a major and high- ranking demoness, often portrayed in the Medieval tales as both an ally and a sometimes- competitor of Lilith who specializes in seducing men (only men), bringing them to destruction in their personal lives as a fatal consequence of this sexually-oriented attraction.

“And she goes and roams the world at night, and makes sport with men and causes them to emit seed. And wherever men are found sleeping alone in a house, they [these spirits] descend upon them and get hold of them and adhere to them and take desire from them and bear from them. And they also afflict them with disease, and the men do not know it. And all this is because of the diminishing of the moon.”

- Zohar 1: 19b

“And when Lilith comes and sees that child, she knows what happened, and she ties herself to him and brings him up like all those other sons of Naamah. And she is with him many times, but does not kill him. This is the man who becomes blemished on every New Moon, for she never gives him up. For month after month, when the moon becomes renewed in the world Lilith comes forth and visits all those whom she brings up, and makes sport with them, and therefore that person is blemished at that time.”

- Zohar 3: 76b-77a

In earlier, Talmudic-Midrashic mythology, Naamah is still taken to have been a flesh-and-blood woman, the sister of Tubal-Cain, also known as Cainan, or ‘Little Cain’ who is credited with being the world’s first metalworker, a very ancient and hallowed magickal trade and profession. In comparative terms Cainan, the Horned God can thus be seen as the Middle Eastern counterpart of the God Ogun

If we examine the Old Testament, we find that there is a story concerning Cain, the Agriculturally inclined son of Hawwah-Eve and Abel, a later son born to Eva who was a pastoralist.

We find that Cain evidently ‘slays’ Abel, and is then given a magical mark of protection – many are of the opinion that this sign was horns - and he moves to the East of Eden amongst concerns for his safety after his clash with his sibling, Abel. Their clash may have been a similar parallel tale of the legends of the struggles between Set and Horus in earlier times; as we know that the Mystery was cloaked in popular entertainment in those days, and what seemed like murder, incest and such were actually allegories of Seasonal changes and Cosmic events.

Be this as it may, in the sixth generation after Cain, the Horned God of Israel, Lamech was born, and has three sons who are credited with founding civilization .

Jabal was the forefather of all pastoralists,  Jubal, the father of all musicians and singers; and Tubal-Cain was the first smith. Naamah is the sister of Tubal-Cain, the father of all smiths and of Fertility magic, with a two-ball cane as his symbol

Having been involved in yet another apparent ‘murder’, Lamech and his house and lineage were to be cursed seventy times seven times; and Adam then began a new lineage with Eve, Hawwah, the Lady of the Serpent - who bore him Seth, or Set, the Foundation.

Anyhow, the Old Testament then seemingly inexplicably drops the whole narrative of the lineage of Adam at this point, save for the identification of Noah as being directly descended from Seth and Enosh, Seth’s firstborn.

In almost all of the later, descriptive Jewish texts mentioning Na’amah, the Goddess is described as an ‘evil’ seductive, temptress and succubus along the lines of the medieval versions of Lilith.

Naamah is believed to be the mother of Ashmodai, also known as Asmodeus, the King of the Djinn, by the demon Shamron. The Djinn, or Genius, was now to be seen as an evil and misguiding demon in both Jewish and Islamic medieval texts. Asmodeus is sometimes portrayed with Dracontian and Serpentine features and is seen as the consort of Lilith in some mythology. Asmodeus is also believed by some to be the Destroying Angel of God, or Avenger of Evil, thus having a rather ambiguous role.

“Lilith’s companion in many of her evil exploits is Na’amah, another high-ranking she-demon. Her origin is obscure, but as her Name, Na’amah (The Charmer) indicates, she is a demoness of extraordinary beauty.”

Although, according to the lone dissenting opinion of Abba Bar Kahana, "she was a well-mannered woman who became Noah’s wife."

The ability to listen to all sides of a story and consider all viewpoints in a comparative way is what leads us to begin to unravel the real story of the Goddess Naamah in a hirstorical context..

Now Noah, his name deriving from Noh, in itself the Name of Juno and Jupiter- JU - is, in this tale, undoubtedly the Sumerian King Ziusudra, the loyal servant(devotee) of Enki, also known as Seth and Cronos, the Winged Serpent God of Wisdom.

According to the Sumerian tablets, Ziusudra was instructed to build an Ark in which to save all of the living creatures on earth from certain extinction. Noh-Ma and Noh ~ where DO we go with names? It’s like the salt of Tiamat and sweet of Ea all over again.

Zisudra was the loyal servant of Lord Enki, the God of Wisdom.

As is common to discover, the same tales are re-told by successive civilizations and the characters which feature in these tales are thus the same in essence.

Such as for example, the tales of the Ancient Mariners of Ra and the vessel which was captained by the early Divinities of Sumer, mentioned also at the beginning of the Epic of Gilgamesh.

The fact that there was a great flood, or deluge in our past, which resulted in the mass extinction of almost all living creatures on land at least, and which also caused major climatic changes and a radically revised shoreline is faithfully reflected in over 500 separate Flood Myths from around the world, many of these completely independent of Biblical tradition.

The Sumerian deluge epic of Ziusudra, found on a fragment of a clay tablet and dating back to around 1700 BCE.; are reflected in the tales of Utnapishtim, found within the Epic of Gilgamesh; and of Atrahasis, from the Epic of Atrahasis.

In the first tale, from ancient Sumer, we learn that some of the Gods of humankind at that time wanted to ‘send a flood’ to destroy humankind.

Enki, God of the Lower Worlds and of freshwater; the God with the symbolism of the Winged Serpent ; benefactor and teacher of the Arts of Civilization to humankind, and who in Babylonian cosmology became Ea; takes Ziusudra aside one evening and in secret behind a screen so that they are not observed, tells the faithful King what is about to transpire.

Instructions are given to Ziusudra to construct a vessel, though details are missing as to what kind of boat it was exactly.

A terrible storm suddenly materializes as if from no-where and continues for a period of seven days.

The boat is tossed about, and after seven days of storms unlike any ever seen before, the Sun finally rises above the horizon.

A Ram and a Bull are sacrificed to the gods Enlil, of the Lifebreath, and An, the Sky.

The tablet was so fragmented and pieces are missing altogether from the text; though it’s clear that this tale recounts a very similar story as that which was relayed in the Bible, in the Book of Genesis. Ziusudra’s wife, The Queen, isn’t mentioned by name though

In another related Hellenistic tale, Xisuthros is the name of Noah and within the surviving fragments of the text, the boat is identified as being made from reeds. In a synchronicity that is quite remarkable, Enki is named as Cronos ~ Saturn; the father of Zeus.

Zeus was always portrayed as a great Serpent in the early days, which is a feminine attribute.

Yet, in later patriarchal mythology, Zeus evidently 'slays' his own Father, Ea ~ Enki...

Xisuthros was a King as Ziusudra; and no mention is made of Xisuthros’ wife, the Queen.

In ancient tradition, a King would be granted succession after having first being wed to the Goddess, through the High Priestess of the old Goddess religion, the Queen of the Realm.

In Akkadian legend, Ziusudra’s name is Atrahasis. Again, it is made clear to Atrahasis by Ea that the flood was sent in a pre-meditated  way by certain of the Gods of humankind, to expressly destroy humankind. It is written that Atrahasis, in common with the other Kings of Sumer before the advent of the patriarchy , was a servant devoted to the Winged Serpent God, and lived together with the Priests of the Goddess and God.

‘I am Atrahasis. I live in the Temple of Ea, my Lord’

The name Atrahasis, means ‘extremely wise’

The flood wipes out humankind, and the corpses are likened to dragonflies on the surface of the waters. All the cities and people were to be destroyed by the flood described in the undamaged pieces of the surviving tablets upon which the saga was scribed out.

These accounts altogether provide us with essentially a complete story of how Noh was the only one entrusted with the information of the impending flood, and in every case, Ziusudra is especially honored by the Gods and taken to their abode, to dwell with them face to face , forever, eating the same food and drinking the same drink, wearing the garments of the Divinities. No mention, though, is made of Ziusudra’s wife, the Queen

The Flood Mythos found in the Epic of Gilgamesh, recounts almost exactly the same events.

Enlil ( later to become the Biblical God, Yahweh) is specifically named herein as the God who engineered the plan to kill all humans, and Enki is once again named as the savior and beneficent God of humankind, as opposed to the seemingly callous indifference of some of  the other Elohim as to the fate of their creations ~ at least, according to the various interpretations of the events leading up to and around the Great Flood.

Utnapishtim is another Wise King, living in ancient Sumer, who is a loyal servant/devotee of Enki. Enki warns Utnapishtim of the great flood which will wash away the existing civilization; and is warned to construct an ark, or boat which will accommodate all of the species of animals which would otherwise also drown in the muddy raging waters and become extinct. The wives – Queens - of these Kings are kept subtly out of the picture, and one can’t help but ask why this is so. My feeling is that the actual events were recorded by the scribes working for whomever was in power at any specific time period ; and over the years, the power changed hands often. Each successive ruler and/or religious body takes liberties with the tales of old and literally remoulds the past, and all too often these rulers even amend popular religion to their own liking.

Thus, it is only through a comparative study, based in symbol, art, cosmology and word and inclusive of all civilizations and ages that we can ever hope to uncover and reveal the Truth, by means of searching for commonalities instead of differences.

Utnapishtim, the wise king, builds the vessel, and for seven days, the rain falls and the waters rise.

On the seventh day, the flood waters begin to subside, and the ark lands on top of a mountain. For seven days, the waters are becalmed,, and a dove is sent by Utnapishtim to search for other signs of land. The dove returns, and Utnapishtim and his wife, the Queen, decide to send out a second bird, a swallow. When the swallow returns, a raven is sent out, and never returns.

Utnapishtim makes a sacrifice to Lord Ea and pours a libation; and both he and his mysterious wife, the Queen, are granted immortality soon thererafter. They are taken away by the gods to live forever at ‘the mouth of the rivers’ and were given the title ‘Faraway’; though the actual meaning of Utnapishtim is, ‘ He found Life’.

In the Book of Genesis, it was put like this :

’ And the Lord God saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth,

And that the desire of his heart’s thoughts

Were only evil, every day,

And the Lord repented that he had made man upon the earth, and His heart grieved.

And the Lord said;

‘I will destroy the Earthling whom I have created

Off the face of the earth’

Noah is instructed, in secret,as the Lord’s faithful servant, to build an Ark, which will accommodate all of the living creatures and thereby save them from total extinction. He is given the measurements and the plans to construct the vessel; and for seven days and seven nights, the storm rages. Actually, in the Biblical version of the tale, it is six days and seven nights, in this case, perhaps a deliberate concealing of the deeper esoteric meanings of the number 7?(which is the common number in all versions as discussed). The Ark then comes to rest on a mountain peak, and after so many days, the last bird is sent out to search for land, never to return. Noah makes a sacrifice, and the sweet savours of the sacrifice are pleasing to the Gods.

 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters  assuaged;

 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained;

And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated.

And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen.”

Genesis 9:1 : “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth…

And whew, aside from the overpopulation of the planet which is now reaching crisis proportions, this is where things go horribly wrong for the animals and the eco-system.

And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered”

This passage is in marked contrast to the ages-old ways of living in harmony with Nature, respecting the sacredness of all life and conserving and protecting the All.

Naamah is originally a human female according to some earlier myths, which tell about her role in seducing the “sons of god”

“She was so beautiful that she led the angels astray, and from her union with the angel Shamdon, or Shomron, sprang Ashmodai, who was destined to become, “The King of the devils”

The various texts which are actually more in-depth commentaries on the Old Testament and largely penned during the Middle Ages, are centered on Demons and the diabolical, and are fascinating to read.

“From being the human mother of Shamdon’s demonic brood, Naamah was transformed by the Kabbalah into a semi-human, deathless being who, like Lilith, fulfils the double task of seducing men in their sleep. She was so beautiful that the sons of men, and even the spirits and demons went astray after her.”

“These sons of God, Aza and Aza’el “went astray after her”

The term ‘going after…a woman, or Goddess, is a Biblical euphemism for a man who is a Goddess devotee. In similar fashion, King Solomon was said to go after Ashtoreth; also known as Inanna-Ishtar, which alludes to the Hieros Gamos between the King and the Queen of Sheba. The Hieros Gamos is a very ancient tradition indeed, whereby the King incumbent symbolically weds the Goddess through Her earthly representative, the Queen of the Realm, or High Priestess.

Azazel is an ancient  Horned God often symbolized by the Goat and by the Peacock. Azazel is known as a former Hebrew divinity, sharing the altar of El Elion.

It is strange indeed, how these ‘Sons of God’ suddenly became infamous evil demons, alien monsters and devils in popular perceptions after the texts were altered and revised according to the liking of the controlling patriarchal sects of the time.

It was further commented in the texts that Naamah “was the mother of the demons, for she came from the side of Cain.” and she, together with Lilith, was appointed over the askara, the strangulation of children. It is another odd co-incidence, that Lilith, Naamah and the other Goddesses such as Melusine were accused of strangling their victims to death, or taking the life force from them. The idea of a Goddess and a free, independent and strong woman - now a 'witch' or 'vampire', taking the life-breath away from a man, is simply a Rabbinical way of cautioning against that man going back to the Old Ways of the Ancestors, and venerating the pre-patriarchal Divine Feminine.

Devout men are warned never to go down to the river or lake after dusk, and especially on a Saturday, for fear that they will be seduced by a Daughter of Lilith or Naamah, and taken away to the other worlds.

The text continues-

“Come and see: This Naamah was the mother of demons, and from her side come all those demons who lie with men and take the spirit of desire from them!

…and she makes sport with the men in their sleep and causes them to emit seed.”

This is how the patriarchy described the Pagan rite of Incubation, however this sacred rite is analogous to the Tantric principles of vision-questing or trance communication with divinity and is really as old as the dawning of civilization - which according to fossil records in Africa may be around 1.2 million years or so.

An ancient symbol closely associated with the Goddess is the Sphinx, as seen on this seal of the great Queen Jezebel of Israel.

The Sphinx , or winged Lion God, Rereti, is featured on the seal together with the Dragon, or Winged disc and serpent symbol of the Neteri, the ancient Goddesses and Gods of humankind; and the Hawk with flail which is a symbol of the Sun God Horus. This seal proves beyond any doubt that Jezebel was a High Priestess of the Goddess religions.

The texts associating Naamah with bringing in the men from the fields to seduce them with sweet sounds and sensuality clearly describe a Temple Priestess. As the priesthood of Old would call themselves by the name of their Divinity, it is reasonable to take it that the Naamahs and Liliths so demonized by the later patriarchy were Temple Priestesses and Priests in the service of the Great Goddess of Love and Death who was called by the Name Isis, Ereshkigal, Lilith, Inanna and Naamah, Diana and Aphrodite, Medusa and Hecate, Nephthys, Melusine, Brigid, Kali and Asherah, and by many other names.

The Name Na’amah alludes to pleasure, and the fulfillment and creation of pleasure – which in itself and every act thereof, to the Goddess devotee, is a rite of joy;

“True, she comes and plays with people and at times she bears them spirit – children, and to this day this is her task”…”

In the days when sex was synonymous with ‘sin’; such pleasurable visions were seen as constituting something dangerous to the health and spiritual well-being of people. (Wonder what they would think of the porn on the internet, then?)

Repressed and sexually frustrated, the medieval monks decided to portray the sacred sexual rites of our Pagan Ancestors of the Fertility religions - as wicked, evil, and somehow inspired by ‘the Devil-incubus Satan’. It is no wonder that the Great Pan, God of Nature was also lumped together with ‘the Devil’

The way that sex has been removed from spirituality, commercialized and used as a tool by people makes it hard for many people to relate to the idea that sex is not cheap or be ashamed of, but a sacred blessing in our lives to be shared responsibly and enjoyed without harm done, shame or guilt.

The idea of a man having intercourse with an invisible or spectral being is by no means a new one. Who can honestly say that they have never had a sexual fantasy before? If the fantasies are enjoyable and pleasurable, all should be well, but if thoughts of guilt and repression and fear enter in, the dreamer enters the realm of nightmare, or so it’s said somewhere or other.

And this really sums it up for me. If sexual pleasure – and the enjoyment of pleasure in itself; which is the greatest gift of Goddess and God to their reflections on Earth, we their children - is a bad, evil thing, and music, dancing and enjoying a great life with joy in one’s heart is called a transgression, then life itself is really not worth living.

Naamah, Nommo, No-MAH, Noh, Ma-Nu; where do we now go with words?

The Nommo is a Dragon, also often interchangeably called a Great Fish amongst various ancient cultures, and was universally recognized as the primordial Creatrix, Tiamat. The Great Mother of the abyss of the waters, of the Ocean and of the greater universe, teeming with life. The Name Na’amah alludes to pleasure, and every act of pleasure is a rite unto the Goddess.

And Naamah is said to have earned her Name by calling the men from the fields to participate in the rites of Love. Naamah is linked with instruments and players of instruments such as cymbals, flutes, drums which were played by the Priestess of the Dracontia in those days. For as long as the collective memory serves, the ancient Near Eastern people practiced the rituals of The Goddess and Her Dragon. The Solar and Lunar Dracontia were Temples such as those of Diana and Apollo and the Sacred Groves which served as outdoor Temples consecrated to the Divine.

These groves were later well known as the Groves of Lady Asherah, as the High Places mentioned in the Bible over 40 times are actually the pre-ancient Goddess and Dragon Temples, called Dracontia which were at one time, universal in extent.

The Obelisks and Pyramids to be found all over the world, many submerged under leagues of water, are all remnants of the Old Goddess and Dragon religions. The Pyramidion is one of the central symbols of Ophite Traditions, as all pyramids and pyramidions are made in the image of the Goddess.

The basis of Ancient Egyptian spirituality and in fact all ancient spirituality lies in Serpent Worship, as the Serpent and Winged Serpent are symbols ancient beyond ancient, and date back to a truly unknown antiquity.

The Temple at Delphi, or this sketch, rather and the ruins which remain; is an example of the once universal Temples of the Dragon. The Dragon which Mercury (Hermes, who 'became' the Angel Michael) once rode ~ the Dragon of the Caduceus.

The Druids, Sons of the Dragon; did not only share the Ophite symbolism of the Globe encircled by the Serpents with all other ancient peoples; in which the head of Medusa ornamented the entranceway to the Temples to bless devotees and protect against invaders -

the Druids constructed Stonehenge itself  using the technology of the Ancients, and made it in the form of this symbol. The striking resemblance to the Temple ruins layout at Delphi and the layout of Stonehenge is evident.

The High Priestess of the Goddess has a sacred symbol, which is the Lily.

It’s a strange thing, how the water lily grows. It is a tuber deep in the muddy bottom of a pond, and when it is the right time, it sends out long leaf and flower stems, towards the light, towards the surface and away from the coolth of the nether currents.

Unheralded, and overnight, lily pads cover the limpid reflective surface of the pond and bloom in profusion, unfolding majestically, the centre of the bloom surrendering to the Sun and inviting strangers to gaze inside, inside the innermost glory of sacred Creation.

Now as we can see throughout the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Bible, the same common archetypes appear.

An example would be the medieval Lilith archetype, as portrayed by Jezebel, the Scarlet woman, the Whore, the baby-snatcher and Great Whore of Babylon.

Distorted by the times as they are, there is a definite pattern which emerges and although Lilith was actually written out of the Bible save for an obscure reference to the sceech owl, arrow snakes and the Satyrs in the wilderness in the Book of Isaiah, the Goddess’ name does not appear directly within the biblical texts. Delilah would be the closest of the names to appear at all.

King Solomon’s wife, Naamah, Queen of the realm and High Priestess of Ashtoreth, on the other hand, appears as the sister of Tubal-Cain as well as being mentioned  in that early reference by Abba Bar Kahana as being the wife of Noah.

The hirstorical avatars of Naamah are thus very far removed from being evil she-demonesses.

The tales of Jezebel and Naamah are very similar on a number of points. Jezebel was a Phoenician princess who married the King of Israel and became Queen regent of the divided Kingdom for three decades; and maintained the peace between ALL religions and spiritual traditions during that time.

Although the exact details are admittedly sketchy, Naamah was called ‘The Ammonite’ meaning that she was regarded by some in a hostile manner, in the same way as Jezebel was attacked by the ultra-conservative factions during her period of rule for maintaining the worship of the Goddess and the Serpent.

Naamah was the Queen Mother, and bore Rehoboam, who succeeded King Solomon. By virtue of this title, Queen Naamah was the High Priestess of Asherah ~ Inanna.

Solomon was wed to the Queen of Sheba, Lilith’s Avatar; and so it is no ‘co-incidence’ then, that Lilith and Naamah are more often than not, considered as unique aspects of the same Goddess.

The thing is, that Asmodeus, also known as Aeshma Deva, the Prince of the Avengers of Evil – is the half-brother of King Solomon, by Agrat, also known as Agrat Bat Mahlat.

There are a series of tales of the struggles between the brothers, which relate to the building of Temples and the swopping of magickal rings which also distantly mirror the continual struggles between the Ancient Egyptian Oak and Holly Kings.

Ashmodai is a Spirit of good fatherhood, and specializes in punishing men for any acts of abuse against women.

Strange how all things return in cycles, isn’t it?

In later mythology, Naamah is believed to be the Queen of Zemargad, a city of the Yenne Veld, or Other World. The cities of the Netherworld are sometimes described as being deep beneath the mirrored reflection on the waters; and the entrance to the other worlds is somewhere on the bottom in a secret location, where only a Mermaid can take the one she loves and has chosen for herself. Naamah’s sacred crystal is Aquamarine, which is a stone reflecting the deep, calming and yet vibrant fluidity of water itself.

Water is the highest good; and water is common to all life on the planet.

If an organism does not have water, it is not alive; as water conducts the life force within.

As all is water, that has life, we are all interconnected. What is done to one molecule, affects every other.

Naamah and Noah, the loyal devotees of Ea ~ Enki are the Guardian Spirits of humankind to whom we owe a tremendous debt of love and gratitude. The fact is, that without the timely assistance of the heroic couple who had, in common with the ancient peoples, taken the very names of their Divinities ~ their devotion to the Goddess and God of Wisdom , and their blind faith in themselves and Spirit that made them actually believe that the flood was coming and that it would annihilate the vast majority of life on the planet; and knowing this, to carry out the instructions given for constructing the vessel which would enable them to survive the deluge ~ we would possibly not be here today.

The story of the Ark must naturally be viewed in context as an allegory, a tale of the workings of the Great Goddess and God of Nature. Nuah is the Chaldean God, the male reflection of the Goddess, Her self and Her other half.

One wonders what kind of boat, powered by which source and steered by which captain would be best to navigate the currents of life, during which course there are most certainly some tests?

For as all Life emerged from the Sea of the Cosmic reality of the greater universe; so it returns again to the dark azure Abyss, as surely as the Wheel turns. All cycles of existence are characterized by Change, as new creation is followed by a period of flourishing and increase, and then, succeeded by a period of decrease and decline. Every living organism experiences the same cycles, and as we are all part of the greater reality of an infinite universe, we can be assured of one thing; which is, that just as all good things come to an end, there are just as surely new beginnings.

The God Ea, also known as Enki, often manifests as Merman; as the Fish is an ancient Goddess symbol with inner spiritual meanings later used by Christianity, except that instead of symbolizing the spiritual nourishment of the Goddess it was adapted to be the body, or sustenance of Jesus in Christianity.

Yet Mari, Isis, Mami Waters, Quan Yin, Persephone, Aphrodite and Mary are the same Goddess, with the same symbols.

The tail of Ea, the male aspect of the Goddess, has the scales of a Carp; in the same way as the body of the Oriental Dragons is comprised of carp scales. This is to signify wisdom and re-birth. The Horned crown of Ea features the ancient symbol of the Dragon Priestess lineage, the Lily.

In certain contemporary occult traditions which have roots in the fear-based philosophies of the medieval ages though, Naamah is understood to be a demoness, as one of the four daughters of Samael the Devil.

A queen demon of hell, and a sister/daughter/manifestation of Lilith, the so-called Queen of Demons.

Strangely and curiously enough…

The other of these so-called daughters of the Devil, are named Mahalat and Igrat Bat Mahlat. To make all things as clear and refreshingly cool as a deep blue Aquamarine, it is certain that medieval concepts have been attached to the Goddess.

Mahalat , the 'demoness' is a medieval caricature of the Goddess Allat, also known as Aililat, the Goddess of Ancient Arabia and Manat, the Crone Goddess. Igrat Bat Mahlat is the Daughter of Allat and granddaughter of Manat. Igrat is also called Agrat, Venus and Al-Uzza, the Mighty Virgin Goddess of the Morning and Evening Star.

Naamah is naturally a Goddess in Her own right, as are the Triple Goddesses of Arabia. Maiden, Mother and Crone, and as effortlessly as water flowing irresistibly and blending on it’s path; the Goddess becomes One, which is the many.

Aquamarine means ‘ Water of the Sea’ in Latin, and this descriptive name describes the colour and feel of these Cardinal Water element stones.

It is after all, via the stones of the earth, water, air and fire we look to that healing is enabled. A sacred animal or crystal of a Deity can reflect aspects of their true and essential nature

Aquamarine, to Atlanteans and Witches alike, is a stone of happiness and of eternal youth - of immortality of the free Spirit, unbound and unfettered, totally irrepressible and possessing the energies of optimism, and invincible protection against malign energies.

Aquamarine is the treasure of the Mermaid; of the ancient Naga Guardians of the sweet waters, and of the Fountain of Youth and Immortality.

The Goddess Cybele, in Her form as Atargatis, Melusine, Mai Waters, Ma-Nu; Nommo, Tiamat, Lorelei, Dercento and many other ancient Goddesses manifest in the form of the Mermaid.

Aquamarine allows us to embody Water, to be Water, to swim effortlessly within the Highest Good, and in this way achieve enlightenment.

Aquamarine is used by sincere Goddess devotees as a virtual gateway to the Goddess; and Aquamarine encourages one to connect with the inner Divine Feminine as well as without. Aquamarine is a potent ally for healing, and any ailment which ‘burns’ is easily cured with the aid of  this wonderful crystal.

The incredible spiritual changes which many of us are called to during this transformative period in Time calls for the calming, yet incredibly empowering qualities of Aquamarine to assist us through the changes smoothly, and without resistance.

There is a very fundamentally powerful energy to be gained by aligning oneself with the fluid , yielding yet ever flowing power of water, which although soft, always overcomes the hard.

Hail Mari! Hail Naamah! Hail Lilith! Hail Tiamat! Hail Melusine!

Great Goddess of Infinite Names,

From Thy Dark Abyss of Creative Potential we are born to live

We swim the space in between the Lights, the dust - host at thy feet

and return to Thy bosom when it is Time to give and receive

In Love, and in peace we sing to Thee

Mermaid Star Queen!

There is much evidence to suggest that our distant Atlantean ancestors possessed the technology to construct the seemingly impossible pyramids and other awe-inspiring ancient buildings and Temples, the remains of which will probably still be here after the next cyclical event of destruction and creation.

There is no need to look for ancient aliens; as all life on Earth comes from outer space, and thus we are actually the aliens ourselves, at least to all the other beings on other planets and in other realities, which although they are not seen most of the time, are nonetheless very real ~ as substantial yet without any substance.  The reality is that there are an infinite number of races who co-exist with ourselves in space; and yet it is the inner universe that is infinitely more important to explore first of all. How can people ever know others, if they don’t yet know themselves?

There are many other realms aside from our own, and this physical reality is influenced by all of the others.

Naamah, of the  warm and iridescent blue aura, teaches us to remember that there is always life, in myriad forms, which comes from the Darkness, or invisibility, of Water; that all this life is sacred and that it is so important to love yourself so that the waters can be kept clear.

OM NAMO NAAMAH

Sweet dreams! Xox

"The supreme good is like water,

Which nourishes all things

Without trying to.

It is content with the low places

That people disdain.

Thus it is like the Tao."

~Laozi
