The rainforest in another's smile stops me with caution

Their mystery lips twisting like the rivers of the Amazon

And their raised brow a lost record of ancient civilizations

Stone temples pulsing with abandonment and overgrown emotions

There are stalking jaguars in their silence

Pythons in the way they hold my hand and squeeze

Told in the middle of the night

In the middle of a yellow desert

In the middle of a red sandstorm

Tent flapping and wind blowing

The oil lamps will flicker

And the words will come forth, unbidden

A locked filigree box, opens

And behind the black veil and smoke haze

My kohl eyes will travel through you
