On this little journey we are on called 'Life', we have absolute joys that lift our spirits, and then we also have shit that happens that can shake our core. We always have a choice to accept these things and sink under the weight of them, or we can allow ourselves time to come to terms with things and then pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and continue to live another day.

One thing about shit happening, it never lasts. Yes it can hurt us, irritate us even make us ill at times and yet, once we allow ourselves to feel and deal with it, it passes and is never quite so bad once we look back.

A dear friend shared with me something recently - we can experience something without becoming the experience. This is so true! 

We can acknowledge something negative going on, that bad things occur from time to time and step outside of this and try to move forward once again in time. 
Or, we can allow the heaviness of things to weigh us down so much, that we almost become what is occurring. We can no longer see a way out of it. So in this way we are becoming the experience.

Our thoughts and feelings can be powerful things! They can create the reality we live in and so by becoming the experience, means we are going to perpetuate what is going on instead of healing what is going on.
By allowing ourselves time to accept things/changes/issues going on and then moving forward once again, we are creating a different set of events that will be more positive. It no longer has power over us and we can heal.

So be aware when things occur how you are viewing them for thoughts are powerful tools.
