The Darkness Inside

Life sometimes feels like a nightmare 
Every step that I take is the wrong one
The only whispers of hope escape in the air  

Does it sound familiar?

They say that time can slowly heal
But the emotional pain and memories amplify  
Forever hunting and haunting me, it's so unreal
And still, I dream and see my life flying by 
I shall forever sleep one day soon 

Living a life beyond this ordinary light
With total darkness consuming my fate 
I try holding onto positive feelings with all of my might
Left with despair and nothing but hate
I look through these eyes and wonder why
Before the final fall, I reach out to nothing and cry
There is no outcome to my final existence

 

Since the smell of death lingers from within
A glimpse of my crypt is well insight 
The new moon phase begs my soul to transcend
I soon accept this darkness instead of the light  

When the shreds of my existence begins to fade away
My ancestors from the past will guide my way 

Life at times seems like it never ends 
Step by step I try to make amends
Perhaps I can find a way to buy back time 
But you can never hold onto this state of mind
I have lost that inner peace that once dwelled within

The true feelings are gone that I used to confide in

Or am I already gone?

Left to witness
The exit of this mind is fast
I find myself without the existence 
But the heart recalls the past

A lifeless body in the living guise
Leaping off to quick demise

A blind man in a cave of eternal light
Remnants of my past fade in the night 

Life at times is so hard to comprehend
But every step leads further towards the end
Before my death another dimension I shall see    
The darker light consuming me 

Take a look beyond these dreams and far away 
For this darkness consumes us each and every day

Don
