The full moon marks its maximum swell of energy. That makes today a good time for spells that benefit from high power. One option focuses on health and healing. You can recharge your bodyandrsquo;s energy reserves with moonlight. While this is no substitute for good self-care, it can give you a quick boost. Take advantage of the warming spring to bare some skin. A T-shirt and/or shorts will help you absorb more energy. Go outside when the moon is in the sky and stand in a place where the it can shine on you. Face the moon and say:Full moon, bright moon,Let me be your cup.Full moon, bright moon,Fill my body up.Feel the energy sinking into you. Turn your back to the moon and repeat the verse again. Visualize themoonlight boosting your health so your body can take good care of itself. Once you feel full, cover up and go back indoors.
While today is Earth Day, which brings attention to environmental issues on a global scale for one day, as Witches, it is vital that we be stewards of the land on a daily basis. We are a part of Earth, not separate from it. We can all tend to the spirits of the land around us, regardless of whether weandrsquo;re in a city, in the suburbs, or out in the woods. While we can make offerings to the land, such as gifts of water and native seeds, one of the best things we can do as human beings is gather and remove trash. This gesture may not seem like an offering, but it is an act of service and an offering of our time. One easy way to do this regularly is when you go on walks and hikes, always bring a compact reusable bag to collect items that can be recycled, as well as a disposable bag for trash that cannot. I guarantee the land spirits will appreciate your efforts, as will the plants, animals, and other visitors.
World Creativity and Innovation Day promotes the importance of fresh, new, and out-of-the-box thinking with regard to sustainability and climate change. Today, take a moment to come up with some creative ways you can personally support our beloved planet Earth. If weather permits, take a notebook or journal outside and sit on the grass or under a tree. (Otherwise find a comfy spot where you can gaze out the window.)Breathe and connect with the elements in your environment, one by one. First, earth: soil, rocks, plants, and trees. Then air: birds, insects, clouds, and the feeling of the air on your skin. Then fire: the sun and sunlight. Then water: any body of water or the awareness of moisture in the air, earth, and plants. Finally, spirit: the first four elements combined, as well as the conscious aliveness that interweaves all of it. Then contemplate how you can become an even better steward of the land and planet. List these ideas in your notebook. When this feels complete, thank each element in turn.
With so much chaos going on around us, it can be hard to focus on the positive and peaceful aspects of life. For this spell all you need is yourself and a garden, either yours or a community garden you like to visit.Find a cozy and quiet place in the garden and sit down to relax. Look at all the lush life growing abundantly around you in collective harmony. Witness and experience all the flora and fauna cohabitating, and allow that energy to fill you up as you remember the abundance and beauty that life has to offer. Feel your hands on the soft grass, smell the aroma of any scented flowers in bloom, and listen for any birds or bees flying around the garden. Close your eyes and take in all the serenity of this place and know that peace does exist and is readily available. When you are ready, take this energy with you and spread it to others throughout the day.
Whether you live amid asphalt and skyscrapers or forests and fields, every place is inhabited by spirits of the land. Partnering with these spirits can benefit both you and them, creating more harmony and dissolving obstructions. In a meditative state, make your intention known:Spirits of this land, I seek to partner with you in perfect love and perfect trust. Allow time for a connection to be felt, perhaps repeating this intention over multiple days. Be patient, especially if this is your first time connecting with the spirits of this place. When the connection is made, start a conversation like you would with a person; get to know each other. Over time, you can ask if thereandrsquo;s something the spirits need to support their health and healing. Perhaps they want litter picked up or pollinator-friendly flowers planted. Maybe their request is more energetic in nature, such as regular offerings of love. In return, the spirits may offer healing, blessings, or insights.
