Candle Gazing

Candle gazing is a gentle and loving form of meditation. Combined with your favorite incense, Moon cycle, music or stones, Candle Gazing can be an important technique for grounding, channeling or just to relax and Be At Peace. In a quiet, darkened room, light your candle or candles of choice. Breathe deeply, ground and center, and gaze quietly at your candle flame. Let yourself feel warmed by the Light. Let the candles peaceful radiance fill you completely. As thoughts surface in your mind and Heart, experience them as if they came from within you, radiating outward. Do not let the flame split into a double image-keep your eyes and attention focused but relaxed. Remain doing this for at least five to ten minutes and for longer with practice.

I found out through time and experience that Reiki, meditating, the chakra system with the crystals and stones, plus drumming and chanting are the ones that are most effective for me.

Shielding is a technique for creating a magical 'force field' around you or on a sacred place.

This could be psychic background noise or magical energy directed at you.

Visualize a sphere of energy surrounding yourself.

I visualize myself being within an egg so I am protected all around.

I use my own energies within to power it.

I would visualize negative energy being absorbed by this shield and flowing into the earth. Just remember to ground and center before doing this.

I visualize it as porous, though, so that energy I send can pass through this sphere.

Warding is a similar technique. A Ward is basically a Shield that is anchored to a physical place. Instead of using your own energy, though, you let Mother Earth energy flow upward to assist you. I perform a lot of creative visualizations regularly to enhance my abilities thus keeping my ward strong.

An Amulet is a magically empowered item that deflects specific energies or forces from the person wearing or carrying it. Usually, amulets are protection from some kind of negative energy.

A Talisman is a magically empowered item that attracts specific energies or forces to the person wearing or carrying it.

A circle is cast to create a clean space in which to do ritual and magickal workings. It creates an area in which both worlds are present; in a very real sense, it is between the worlds. To invite a Deity, or an Elemental, etc. without a circle (into the mundane world) isn't always such a great idea. It's easier to interact inside a circle. It also acts to keep magickal energy inside until it is ready to be released, or to keep negative energy outside.

Tools Stones, Trees, Wind, Fire, Water, Crystals, Oils and Scents. All these things and more possess unique powers and give out specific energies that can be harnessed and used during ritual and magick.

Earth Power A crystal can be charged and used for its healing properties.

Like-wise herbs and oils can be charged then rubbed onto the body to effect internal changes. These are just a few examples of earth power and its uses.

Divine Power Is spiritual power, that which is charged and channeled by the Goddess and the God. Personal power and earth power are both manifestations of divine power. Divine power is the force of life.

Powers of the Days Sunday - Is associated with the Sun and the colors are yellow, gold and grange.

Monday- Is associated with the Moon and the colors are white, silver, gray and pearl.

Tuesday - Is associated with Mars and the colors of red, pink, and orange.

Wednesday - Is associated with Mercury and the colors of purple, magenta, and silver.

Thursday - Is associated with Jupiter and the colors of blue and metallic colors.

Friday - Is associated with Venus and the colors of

green, pink, and white.

Saturday - Is associated with Saturn and the colors of

black, grey, red, and white.

Grounding and Centering

Grounding is an exercise used to shed excess energy or to send raised energy into the Earth in order for it to be transformed for manifestation of the magickal work being done. You must ground after performing any magickal work.
Otherwise, the excess energy from the work can adversely affect you. To do this you should plant your feet firmly on the ground. Close your eyes. Inhale a slow deep breath and release it slowly while visualizing any retained negative energy or influences flowing out of the body through your feet and dispersing harmlessly into the ground. Inhale again while visualizing positive 'Earth' energy being drawn up into the body through the feet. Repeat this process until you feel that all your negativity has been released and the incoming energy has touched and infused all your body's chakra points.

Chanting

Chanting, it is the repetitive use of sound. A magickal tool to induce trance, create a magickal space and raise energy or a cone of power to be directed toward a specific intention, object, or goal

The sound created can vary from a single note or word.

Drumming

The medicine drum is useful in calling in healing spirits. It can be used for purification, somewhat like smudging. In the purification the shaman rattles all around the standing subject. In the process the drum draws itself to particular places and will change tone and rhythm. It can also be used to help calm anxiety and agitation and to help call back someone who has got stuck in the other realities. It can also be used to extract negative energies. As a healing drum it should be smudged or otherwise cleansed regularly as one would do with a healing crystal.

Chakras

Chakras are the energy vortices of the human being which are actually located in the etheric body. They are "spinning wheels" of energy.
The major chakras are aligned approximately along the vertical mid line of the body; minor chakras are located in the palms of the hands, soles of the feet and at each joint, as well as at locations along the meridians of the body.

Crystal and Stone Energies
are helpful in balancing the chakras. Clear crystals will energize any of the chakras and, in the beginning are the best stones to use for chakra balancing.
Stones which are helpful for any given chakra are the same color of the chakra.
Root: hematite, obsidian, ruby, garnet, red jasper, smoky quartz
Spleen: carnelian, wonderstone, orange coral
Solar Plexus: citrine, gold topaz, gold, amber
Heart: rose quartz, amazonite, watermelon tourmaline, emerald, aventurine, malachite, green jade
Throat: blue lace agate, blue topaz, moonstone, turquoise, aquamarine, blue tiger eye

Third eye: lapis lazuli, Sodalite, azurite, sapphire
Crown: amethyst, clear quartz crystal, Herkimer diamond, Sugilite, purple fluorite
Gold chakra: clear quartz cluster, fire opal, diamond

Building Energy and Reiki

Reiki is the power to heal using universal life force. Reiki itself is a system of natural healing coming to the west from Japan. A trained practitioner of Reiki healing has the ability to channel pure life force - what is known as ki, chi, or prana - and gently allow the recipient to absorb this life force.

The recipients own body can use the energy to heal, gently removing any blocks to health and increasing the flow of life force to areas that are ill or injured. Reiki also works on the energy bodies. Healing can occur on an emotional, mental, or spiritual level. Reiki differs from other forms of energy healing, because the recipient is said to be in charge of the transfer of energy.
