Literally meaning Divine Reading, Lectio Divina is an ancient practice of praying the scriptures, and yes for me the scriptures are a great sacred text for the Jedi Path. During Lectio Divina the practitioner listens to listens to the text of the Bible with the ear of the Heart as if in divine communication with God, and God is suggesting the topic of discussion, to me this practice in a way is much like a form of divination. As you listen with your hearts ear you are guided through the texts and soon you will begin to notice that certain aspects of your life will come into tune with the text that you are divinely listening to. It is as if God is reading your heart and mind and guiding your reading to where you need the most work done. I do not see any reason why people of the Jedi Path cannot adapt this same form of Divination. We have not only the scriptures to choose from but an entire plethora of sacred texts to choose from as well as our own Jedi books to read. People too often think with their minds and listen with the ears on their heads; this should not be the way it is. As Jedi I feel that it is time to begin to listen more to our hearts instead of always relying on our minds, as Qui-Gon said in The Phantom Menace: “Feel, don’t think,” to me this is a perfect example of listening to your heart for the heart listens but it also feels. I think if people were to listen to their hearts more often I think that we would have a much better understanding of one another and the world would be a much more compassionate place for us to live in. To often we let pride, greed, jealousy and feelings of emotions that are controlled in the mind over run our thought process, this overheats our brains and can not only cause mental damage but can also have physical repercussions as well. Open your hearts more to others, but use the spiritual gift of discernment that you have been blessed with. Feel, feel, feel. The energies that people give off will tell you all you need to know about them.
Don’t be deaf open the ears of the heart and you will hear, open the eyes of the mind and you will see.
