Aromatherapy for the Throat Chakra
Essential oils such as rose, jasmine, rosewood, and sandalwood are good for emotional balance. Eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, frankincense, and lavender essential oils will help reduce inflammation of the throat.
Place a few drops of essential oils in an aroma lamp throughout the day.
You can also place a few drops on a handkerchief and breathe into it when you feel the need.
Take a warm relaxing steam bath with a few drops of peppermint oil.
Do not apply peppermint oil directly in bath water as it may be irritating to the skin.
Place a few drops into a steamer as you relax in your tub or sauna.
Take turns breathing from your nose and throat while keeping your eyes closed.
Always follow label instructions when using essential oils. For a great aromatherapy massage, combine a few drops of your favorite essential oil with jojoba oil. Rub the mixture together to activate the hand chakras. Then massage it into the neck and shoulder area using slow stroking movements.
Gemstone therapy for the Throat Chakra
Most blue colored gemstones stimulate the energy of the throat chakra. The best gemstones are Turquoise, Aquamarine, Lapis Lazuli, and Topaz. Let your intuition guide you toward choosing the one that's right for you.
Any of these stones can be worn as jewelry but must touch the skin directly so the energy of the stone can be absorbed. Preferably a combination with sterling silver.
The Turquoise makes the best touchstones. Rub the stone throughout your day to activate its healing properties.
For direct chakra healing, place the stone of choice directly on the skin on the lower part of the neck where it meets the chest.
Close your eyes and visualize the stone floating in the middle of a light blue ball of energy above this area.
Relax in this position for 5-10 minutes. Feel the effect of the gemstone as you relax. Wear a blue top while doing this exercise to enhance the effect of the healing.
Bach Flower Remedies for the Throat Chakra
To balance the throat chakra, use a combination of any of these Bach Flower remedies:

For best results, place a few drops on or under the tongue before swallowing. (Always follow label instructions).
Throat Chakra Energy Massage
Lie on your back with your eyes closed. Rub your hands together in a circular motion to activate the hand chakras.
Place your hands around your throat with the wrists touching and your forearms lining up in front of your chest.
As you inhale, imagine that you are breathing in life energy. Visualize a light blue ball of energy emerging from your hands.
As you continue to take slow, deep relaxing breaths, visualize this ball of energy getting bigger and brighter.
Continue this exercise for about five minutes. For best results, practice this method once a day.
Activating the Throat Chakra in your daily life
Keep a journal and write down your daily experiences, then read them out loud to yourself. What would you have done differently that would have enhanced your day?
Read poetry out loud. Join a book club or start one of your own. Take music lessons to exercise the vocal cords.
Trust your inner voice to guide you when making tough decisions.
Don’t let others talk you into doing something you know in your heart is not right for you.
Stand firm in your own opinions when confronted by others that don’t share the same viewpoint.
Do this in a non-argumentative way.
Wear blue clothing and jewelry. Bring the color blue into your home décor with linens, towels, area rugs, and curtains.
Place blue vases and candle holders throughout your home.
Go to the beach and take in the beautiful blue ocean. Lay back and relax as you gaze off into the sky.
