Kundalini Healing and 'Shaktipat'

The goal of many of the Hatha yoga practices is to purify the Nadis and then to cause the prana and Apana to meet and rise up through the Sushumna.

There are degrees of Shaktipat Mastery. From "Oops, I'm contagious, how did that happen?" to "here is your full awakening, all knots pierced and major blockages removed."

The title of Shaktipat Master is a little misleading. I prefer "Mystress" since nobody knows what the heck it means... Nobody really "Masters" Shakti. She does as She pleases, and we just try to stay out of the way. The Shaktipat Master is a vessel for transmission, Goddess is the source.

The classic Kundalini awakening experience is the feeling of intense vibrations and energy surges, often described as a freight train running up your spine, and often accompanied by transcendent experiences of white light, oceanic cosmic unity, and rapturous love. Equally often, the subject of the experience is terrified thinking they are going to die! Angels say, "Fear not" when they show up because the Divine can be darn scary!

Awakening can be a quiet experience, especially awakening via Shaktipat. Shaktipat awakenings are often felt as feelings of joy, peace, bliss, with gentle warmth ascending the spine.

Triggers for awakening vary; many people take Yoga classes for health, not realizing that they can lead to awakened Kundalini.

Shaktipat is used to define “Spirit” or “Kundalini” as an awareness within us that is also all around us, in everything, everywhere, all the time. It is the spiritual force that is guiding all people to enlightenment, and its expression through a human being brings indescribable bliss (Nivakalpa Samadhi).

The purpose of Shaktipat meditation is to raise the spiritual awareness, or calibrated level of consciousness to ever-higher levels until the state of consciousness is “undifferentiated.”    http://www.selfawareness.com/shaktipat.html

Mikao Usui was the originator of what we today call Reiki. He was born on August 15th, 1865 in the village of 'Taniai-mura'  in the Yamagata district of Gifu prefecture Kyoto.
