When in doubt buy a book.  Any time I need to research and learn something I buy a book.  You don't want to know how many I've got.  I chose A Year And A Day, and one about being a solitary witch.  With those and all the helpful people and sites you can learn as I am s l o w l y learning.  I'm interested in so many diverse things I had to stop and concentrate on a few at a time.

Hey Bambi, sorry to hear about your situation. There are also a lot of books and resources online. I use a lot, just type in wicca or whatever topic, tarot, crystals, etc, and it will come up with a bunch of books and magazines, etc, that are shared online for free. I know without a steady internet connection this may not be an ideal solution, but it's better than nothing!

Thanks Zeph, Lora, Mary, and you're most welcome.

I believe It's very important that you find what works for you, it's so much a part of what this whole site is about is encouraging people to develop their own spiritual path and to support others in doing the same.

I believe we should never let an organization or a person insist that our beliefs and practices must be the same as theirs or conform in a particular way. When it comes to YOUR spirituality you get to make up the rules and decide what you you're going to do at any time in your life and why.

Your spiritual life is the most sacred part of you, literally, and is meant to be yours and for you to connect with and explore your own unique connection to, and place in, the divine universe.

Listen to the voice inside first, the part of you that feels spiritually 'tuned' in, to your 'intuitive' self and honor that and you can never go wrong.

Hi Lora, Wicca tends to be fairly ritualized, but when it comes to one's personal spiritual path, I don't believe we need to, or should follow any particular 'handbook' unless it really calls to us to do so. If you are drawn to ritual then ritual is wonderful, but if ritualization feels at odds somehow with spirituality to you, that's alright too.

I think what's important is for us to find ways of connecting with the divine, with expressing ourselves spiritually in ways that are personally meaningful.

For some people that means a formal path with a formal label and formal rituals, and for some people it means something else.

Obviously something is drawing you to Wicca, and other forms of paganism, so for certain do explore these areas, but understand that you can take and adopt the parts that work for you and leave the rest, you don't have to practice Wicca like other people, you can be an eclectic pagan that incorporates some Wiccan beliefs and/or practices, without being a strict/formal practitioner of Wicca.

Those are my beliefs anyways.

What do you visualize moving forward means to you? What would you like to start doing or change in your life regarding these elements in your life?

The next step could mean all kinds of things, depending on what your focus and interests are. There are formal schools of study. Some online, where you can go through formal studies/initiations/degrees, etc.  Often there are in person groups or events that one can become involved with depending on where you live. Or maybe just a deepening of solitary practice and creating more of your own spiritual practices in daily living?

There are so many ways we can move forward with our own spiritual growth, so allow yourself to listen to yourself about which direction to take. Don't confine yourself to what might be expected of you, but let your spirit guide you into what feels right.
