Whew, alright then, Bryan.

It's just that it takes a while to source images and post them and put blogs and essays together and one doesn't need to waste time. I felt a bit jittery about posting blogs now in case they also disappear overnight as I am sure you will understand..bearing in mind what happened last time - I didn't recieve the mail and it was unclear as to why the images had vanished without trace as it were..Thanks for clearing this issue up.

This copyright issue is really a road to no-where in my opinion, and is based in false ego gratification in many instances.

Once something has been posted on the internet, surely it becomes common property? I understand the implications of copyright , yet this only applies if one copies a photo or text and uses this to make money out of someone elses work, which is theft. I am sure that the vast majority of members here and on other social networking sites have no such intentions, they just wish to share things of interest without any ideas of gaining financially out of it.

If people don't want their work/images to be shared, then it's up to them to make the decision not to post them out there in the first place. Also, the TOS clearly states that credit must be given - I for one have always respected this and have titled images and given references accordingly where I have used other's work in my own.

So when I do eventually publish my long awaiting book it will be free, without copyright and available to everyone as I will not be seen as a paranoid, selfish and ego-filled ponce who won't allow anyone else to use a quote or paste an image without threatening people with legal action.(just saying)

I have posted a notice on the front page, but rest assured, the images aren't actually 'deleted'. The problem continued even after the Image Notice email blast was sent to all members. Rather than following the 'suspend' protocol, we are working through some alternatives. They will likely be turned back on once we work through all of it.

From our TOS:

"Be respectful of copyright policies. Give credit to the original writer/artist/etc when you post any content that you yourself have not produced that does not follow under fair use guidelines. Members understand that they take personal responsibility for the posting of copyrighted materials. You may not post, modify, distribute, or reproduce in any way any copyrighted material, trademarks, or other proprietary information belonging to others without obtaining the prior written consent of the owner of such proprietary rights. Failure to follow this policy will result in account suspension. (If you believe that your work has been copied and posted on Temple Illuminatus in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please inform us and we will remove it as soon as possible.)"

The very least that could have been done is to warn people of the decision to remove them!!! Some were posted by treasured members no longer with us!!!
